The English Yew (Taxus baccata) is an evergreen with a dense, conical habit, reaching up to 50 feet tall and 20 feet wide. It sports dark green needles and red, cup-shaped berries. Hardy in USDA zones 6-7, it thrives in well-drained soil and tolerates shade. Ideal as a hedge or specimen, Yews require minimal pruning. Note: All parts, except the berry flesh, are toxic; handle with care.
