Black-eyed Susan 'Herbstsonne', or Rudbeckia nitida, is a striking perennial displaying bright yellow petals with a prominent green cone. Flourishing in full sun to part shade, it reaches 4-7 ft in height and spans 1.5-3 ft wide. Hardy in zones 4-9, it tolerates most soil types if well-drained. Its late summer blooms attract butterflies and are excellent for cutting, adding bursts of color to borders and wildflower gardens.
