Overview
The Diervilla rivularis is a deciduous shrub with burgundy-black foliage, vivid red autumn tones, and small yellow summer flowers that draw pollinators. Its spreading habit matures at 36-48 inches tall and wide. Easy and adaptable, it grows in sun or shade, with deepest color in sun to part shade, average water, and most well-drained soils, including dry sites. Hardy in USDA Zones 4-7.
